Over heating problem on 680FP hydraulics
« on: July 21, 2016, 12:53:53 pm »
I just wanted to note my current problem in case anyone has any ideas.  I have the entire system finally working and very happy with it.  However, I don't seem to get as much air blowing into the cabin as I'd expect and after about 20 minutes the system overheats and has to be shut down.  After researching it a bit I've isolated the issue to the supercharger or hydraulic pump itself by removing the primary heat ex-changer and secondary heat exchanger from the picture altogether.  I now only have the line coming from the supercharger down the scat tube and blowing freely into the tail section.

My thinking originally that maybe the secondary exchanger was clogged or had a bad bearing and was basically stopping up the air flow.  I definitely have air flow coming out of the disconnected hose but the system is still overheating after 20 minutes.

I guess I'm down to replacing the supercharger and possibly the pump but wondering if anyone has any other ideas of things to try before I start wrenching it apart.

Thanks,

Glenn
