Glenn in crash.
« on: June 19, 2024, 06:09:36 am »
Take a minute to wish some speedy recovery to site owner and old Commander fellow Glenn Hancock. His immaculate Lockheed 12 crashed upon landing at home airport, thankfully I think all are in stable and good condition. I heard Glenn could get out, but the other 2 passengers were trapped until rescue service arrived. Thank god no fire.

Not religious, but agnostic prayers all around!  :'(

Oh my!  Hate to hear that.  I met Glenn and spent time with him years ago when we were both getting our Commanders worked on in Tennessee.  Sure hope he recovers totally!  I will be praying for him.

That was Glenn? I had no idea.

Any truth to the rumor that Dan Gryder was in the right seat?

Yep, it seems Dan Gryder was one of the passengers!

Now I remember Glenn buying the Lockheed! Hope he has a quick recovery. The airplane looks fairly repairable, based on the pictures I saw.

Looks like the tail wheel was not locked before landing

Heard back from Glenn. He said he took the direkt hit of the tree and is pretty messed up, with a brain concussion etc, but otherwise fine. Glad he's well enough to repsond to my silly email - I'd sent one asking about how he polished the L12 just a few days before the crash and he responded with tips on polishing, so that's a good sign of recovery.  :)
